SAPO Sends Investigator Potalap’s Case to Court

The High Anti-Corruption Court will hear a collegial case on charges of senior investigator of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police, Vyacheslav Potalap, of receiving unlawful benefits.
The motion of the defense attorney and the motion of the accused (Potalapa – ed.) for a collegial consideration of the criminal proceedings shall be granted. The criminal proceedings on the accusation (Potalapa – ed.) shall be conducted in the court of first instance by a collegial court of three judges.
Vyacheslav Potalap is a suspect in the EBK database.
As is known, NABU and SAPO conducted searches at the residence of Vyacheslav Potalap, a senior investigator of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police, and Andriy Hrytsan, a prosecutor of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office, in the case of requesting and receiving illegal benefits. In this case, the chief operational officer of the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police, Oleksandr Maslov, was initially informed of the suspicion. Later, Potalap was also informed of the suspicion. NABU and SAPO requested that a preventive measure be applied to him.
