HACC Approves General Bakumenko’s Plea Deal image

The HIgh Anti-Corruption Court approved a plea agreement concluded with a former employee of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Major General Oleksiy Bakumenko.

This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Anti-Corruption Commission, but it did not mention the name of the person involved. According to media reports, it is Bakumenko.

The High Anti-Corruption Court approved the plea agreement of June 17, 2025, concluded between the SAPO prosecutor and the accused, a former military serviceman. The High Anti-Corruption Court found him guilty of committing an offense under Part 2 of Article 410 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced him to a sentence agreed upon by the parties to the agreement in the form of imprisonment for a term of 5 years with deprivation of the right to hold positions related to the performance of organizational, managerial or administrative and economic functions for a term of 1 year.

At the same time, Bakumenko was released from prison on probation for 1 year. He was also given the following responsibilities: to periodically appear for registration with the authorized probation agency; to notify this agency of any change in his place of residence or work.
