Lviv doctor fined for bribe in disability case
The Lychakiv District Court of Lviv sentenced Valentyna Fedevich, the head of the expert team for the assessment of daily functioning of a person (EKOPFO) of the University Hospital of the Danylo Halytskyi National University of Lviv, who was detained in November 2025 for a bribe of 2 thousand dollars for the extension of the III group of disability. The culprit was punished with a fine of 85 thousand UAH.
According to the case materials, Valentyna Fedevich, an occupational pathologist and a chairwoman of the ECOPFO of the Danylo Halytskyi University Hospital of Lviv National University, demanded and received $2,000 in bribes from a client on November 20, 2025, for making a decision to extend the III disability group. The money was transferred in the stairwell of the hospital's occupational pathology department on Chernihivska Street.
At the trial, the accused fully admitted her guilt and expressed remorse.
Judge Nazariy Nor found Valentyna Fedevich guilty of receiving unlawful benefit (Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and imposed a fine of UAH 85,000 with a two-year disqualification from holding positions related to organizational and administrative functions in the performance of state functions. The verdict can still be appealed.
