Court Arrests Aide to Ex-Kyiv Councilman Komarnytskyi

The High Anti-Corruption Court took former Kyiv City Council deputy Denys Komarnytskyi and Alisa Sobol into custody in absentia in the context of the land scheme case in Kyiv.
This decision was made by the Supreme Court of Justice on March 24, and was upheld by the Supreme Court of Justice Appeals on April 16.
As indicated, on March 24, the court arrested Sobol in absentia. Her lawyers filed an appeal against this decision.
The appeals of the defense lawyers shall be dismissed, and the ruling of the investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court of March 24, 2025 shall be left unchanged. The ruling shall enter into force from the moment of its promulgation, shall be final and shall not be subject to appeal.

As a reminder, NABU and SAPO conducted searches at the home of Denys Komarnytsky, the former co-chair of the Leonid Chernovetskyi Bloc faction in the Kyiv City Council.
After that, NABU and SAPO handed over suspicions to 10 people, including Komarnytsky, Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Petro Olenych, Head of the Kyiv City Council Standing Committee on Architecture, Urban Planning and Land Relations Mykhailo Terentyev, and member of this committee Olena Marchenko. According to the investigation, the government officials were engaged in illegal privatization of land for construction. In addition, they tried to take full control of the procedure for making decisions on granting land rights.
