This was reported by the Anti-Corruption Center.

Serhiy Kononenko was found guilty of taking three and five thousand hryvnias for assistance in court decisions.

In particular, in 2017, the judge considered a case about the unauthorized construction of a garage. Before making a decision, he called the participant in the case to him and hinted at a bribe, writing in pencil “3,000 UAH plus a disk.” The woman agreed, after which the funds were transferred.

Serhiy Kononenko is a figure in the EBK database.

The judge had previously been sentenced to prison, but it was overturned on formal grounds. Last summer, the Supreme Judicial Council again found him guilty and imposed a sentence of 6 years in prison and confiscation.

Now the appeal has changed the verdict and mitigated the punishment for Serhiy Kononenko. As a result, the judge will be behind bars for 5 years instead of 6 years. The confiscation of all property was left unchanged.

The appeal verdict can also be appealed to the Supreme Court.

We will remind, the case of the former official of the Kharkiv RMA was transferred to court.
