In Dnipro, the head of one of the district departments of the state institution "Probation Center" was detained on suspicion of receiving illegal benefits. According to the investigation, she demanded money from a wounded serviceman for help in getting discharged from the army.

During a meeting with the military officer, the official announced to him the amount for which she would help solve the problem — $21,500, according to the State Bureau of Investigation. She was detained while receiving the entire agreed bribe amount.

The defendants reported suspicion of receiving an unlawful benefit for themselves for influencing a decision-making process by a person authorized to perform state functions (Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for up to eight years in prison.

Investigators are identifying all those involved in the crime, including medical workers and employees of territorial recruitment centers.

Earlier in Kyiv, operatives of the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police and investigators detained lawyer Oleksandr Pakholuk, who promised to help remove a conscript from the wanted list in exchange for a bribe.
