HACC forcibly summoned the brother of the ex-chairman of the DACK, Pavlo Vovka
The higher anti-corruption court applied the case to the brother of the chairman of the liquidated District Administrative Court of Kyiv, Pavlo Vovka, lawyer Yury Zontov.
SAP accuses him of fraud and incitement to bribe a judge of the DACK. The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office asked to apply the pretext to the accused Zontov, since he did not appear at the court session without valid reasons. The defense objected to granting the request and indicated that Zontov was undergoing treatment.
The court established that, at their request, the authorized person of the municipal non-profit enterprise "Vasylkivska Multispecialty Hospital for Intensive Treatment" of the Vasylkiv City Council did not certify that Zontov is suffering from a serious illness and/or is in a health care facility, provided that it is impossible to leave him temporarily.
The request of the prosecutor to satisfy and apply to the accused (Zontov - ed.), who as of September 26, 2024, is in the medical institution of the KNP "Vasylkivska BLIL of intensive treatment" of the Vasylkiv City Council, is brought to the High Anti-Corruption Court. Explain to the accused the possibility of participating in court sessions via video conference from the premises of the Vasylkivskyi City and District Court of the Kyiv Region or from their own technical means
It will be recalled that NABU detained the brother of the chairman of DACK Vovka for allegedly receiving 100,000 dollars in illegal profits. According to the version of the investigation, this money was supposed to be given to the head of the court in order for him to resolve the issue of the satisfaction of the legal entity's claim by another judge of the OASK. During the search of Vovka's brother's office, NABU detectives discovered a large amount of cash.
Pavlo Vovk is a member of the EBK database.
NABU accuses him of numerous violations of the law: an attempt to usurp the judicial power in the country and making custom decisions in favor of political elites and businessmen.
We previously wrote that the Supreme Council of Justice suspended from consideration of court cases the judges of the Kyiv Court of Appeal , Vyacheslav Dzyubin, Yury Sliva , Ihor Palenyk , and Viktor Glynany, who are accused of receiving a $35,000 bribe for the decision to cancel the seizure of property in the case of a suspect in the state betrayal of the ex-head of Motor Sich Vyacheslav Boguslaev.
