HACC Extends Restrictions for Land Case Suspect image

The Supreme Court of Justice once again extended the duties of an accomplice in the land case near Kyiv

The High Anti-Corruption Court extended the term of office of Valeriy Samoilenko until March 21. NABU and SAPO suspect him of aiding and abetting the seizure of 1,200 hectares of land in Pushcha-Vodytsa and Fastiv, Kyiv region.

As is known, the anti-corruption court arrested Samoilenko with the alternative of 2 million UAH bail.

These funds were deposited and he was subject to the following obligations: to appear upon every demand; to report any change in his place of residence and work; to refrain from communicating with witnesses and to hand over his foreign passports for safekeeping.

The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office once again requested the extension of these duties.

 The request of the SAPO prosecutor to extend the term of the duties assigned to (Samoylenko – ed.) – is granted. The suspect’s term of the duties stipulated in Part 5 of Article 194 of the Criminal Procedure Code is extended until March 21, 2025 inclusive.

As a reminder, NABU and SAPO reported suspicions to five individuals, including the head of the State Reserve Dmytro Babak. According to the investigation, in 2018-2019, these individuals seized almost 920 hectares of state land in Fastiv, Kyiv region, and about 284 hectares of the Puscha-Vodytsia state enterprise near Kyiv.
