Recently, NABU and SAPO exposed a scheme to seize the harvest of state-owned enterprises worth UAH 30 million. Among the suspects are People's Deputy Anatoliy Hunko, Kyiv Regional Council Deputy Oleksandr Polyarush, and three more people. According to the investigation, in 2021, the People's Deputy, acting in a preliminary conspiracy with the director of one of the experimental farms and an accomplice, ensured the illegal collection and export of agricultural products. This involved 990 tons of sunflower and 1.4 thousand tons of corn with a total value of UAH 27.3 million, which were transported to controlled private granaries in Chernihiv and Poltava regions.
The following year, the defendants, acting in collusion with another director of the state-owned enterprise, continued their criminal activities by shipping 203 tons of sunflower from the research station. At the same time, the actual harvest volumes were deliberately not reflected in the reporting.
We previously reported that People's Deputy Hunko was sentenced to 7 years with confiscation. He was found guilty of receiving an illegal benefit of $85,000.
