HACC cuts bail for former head of tax service

The High Anti-Corruption Court extended the detention of former head of the State Tax Service Yevhen Oleinnikov until June 15, but reduced his bail to UAH 2 million.
As is known, the anti-corruption court took Oleinnikov into custody and set him bail at UAH 5 million. On April 15, the Supreme Court of Criminal Appeals extended the arrest for two months, but reduced the bail to UAH 3.32 million. The defense attorney of the former head of the tax service filed an appeal against this decision.
The appeal of the suspect's defense attorney (Oleynikov) shall be partially satisfied. The decision of the investigating judge of the HACC dated April 15, 2026, in part determining the suspect an alternative preventive measure in the form of bail in the amount of 1,000 subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons, which is UAH 3,328,000, shall be canceled, and in this part, a new decision shall be issued, which shall determine the bail in the amount of 601 subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons, which is UAH 2,000,128. In the rest, the decision of the investigating judge shall be left unchanged.

Earlier, the High Anti-Corruption Court also extended the term of office of former prosecutor of the Prosecutor General's Office, Oleg Gunko, until June 27. The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office accuses him of receiving illegal benefits.
