HACC Reduces Bail for Ex-Judge Burkhan

The HIgh Anti-Corruption Court has reduced the bail set for Serhiy Burkhan, former head of the Verkhniodniprovskyi District Court of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, from UAH 908,400 to UAH 605,600. The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office accuses him of receiving $2,500 in illegal benefits.
As is known, the anti-corruption court set bail at UAH 908,400 for Judge Burhan. His defense attorney asked the court to reduce it.
The motion of the defendant's defense attorney to change the preventive measure is partially granted. Reduce the amount of bail for the defendant (Burkhan) in the amount of 300 subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons, which in monetary equivalent was 908,400 hryvnias, to 200 subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons, which in monetary equivalent is 605,600 hryvnias.
Serhiy Burkhan is a figure in the EBK database.
Earlier, the High Council of Justice dismissed Serhiy Burkhan from the position of judge of the Verkhnyodniprovskyi District Court of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast due to a significant disciplinary offense. The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office accuses him of receiving $2,500 in illegal benefits.
