The High Anti-Corruption Court has remanded MP Viktor Bondar in custody, but reduced his alternative bail from UAH 75.7 million to UAH 69.64 million. NABU and SAPO suspect him of co-organizing the embezzlement of funds from JSC Ukrzaliznytsia.

As is known, the High Anti-Corruption Court extended Bondar's arrest for two months, but reduced his bail from UAH 100 million to UAH 75.7 million. His defense attorney filed a motion to change the preventive measure.

Change the alternative preventive measure imposed on the suspect (Bondar – ed.) in the form of a bail of 25,000 subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons, which is the monetary equivalent of 75,700,000 UAH, to an alternative preventive measure in the form of a bail of 23,000 subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons, which is the monetary equivalent of 69,644,000 UAH

– the decision states.

Viktor Bondar is a figure in the EBK database.

As a reminder, NABU and SAPO reported suspicions against People's Deputy Bondar. According to the investigation, the suspect People's Deputy Bondar and businessman Volodymyr Kotlyar developed a scheme that involved supplying UZ products at inflated prices. To do this, they entered into a conspiracy with members of an organized group that was a kind of "back office" of the company, informally controlled its activities and, for a certain percentage of the procurement amount, could ensure the victory of the "right" companies in UZ tenders.

Previously, the HACC arrested People's Deputy Viktor Bondar on a 100 million UAH bail , because he did not comply with a previous decision on a preventive measure in the form of bail without arrest.
