Director of Psychoneurological Hospital in Ternopil Detained for Bribery
Volodymyr Shkrobot, director of the Ternopil Regional Clinical Psychoneurological Hospital, was arrested in Ternopil for extorting a bribe. The head doctor demanded UAH 200,000 from the entrepreneur for the opportunity to continue his activities on the territory of the medical institution. Previously, Volodymyr Shkrobot was repeatedly suspected of corruption.
Activist Roman Dovbenko reported Shkrobot's detention, and this information was confirmed to ZAXID.NET journalists by law enforcement sources.
The detention was carried out by employees of the Strategic Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine together with the Prosecutor General's Office. During the search, part of the bribe in the amount of UAH 40,000 was seized from Shkrobot.
According to ZAXID.NET sources, the entrepreneur had to pay for unhindered work and rent of premises on the territory of the hospital. It is known that there are several private pharmacies and funeral services offices on the territory of the psychoneurological hospital.
Earlier, employees of the Strategic Investigations Department together with the military counter-intelligence of the SSU detained Victoria Shakhova, head of the department of the Lviv Regional Clinical Psychiatric Hospital, on suspicion of bribery . She is accused of receiving an illegal benefit for helping to establish a diagnosis that exempted a conscript from service.
