Bucovina TCP workers exposed for bribe over rear service

In Chernivtsi region, the head of the district TCP and his subordinate were detained, who promised to provide service in the rear to a Bukovinian for $6,000. The officials were dismissed from their positions.
This was reported by the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Defense of the Western Region.
According to law enforcement, the men promised to help the local man produce documents that would prove that he was not subject to military service. However, they made sure that the man was deemed fit for service in rear military units and called him to work at the Central Communications Center as an electrician driver.
The former officials were detained while receiving part of the agreed amount. They were charged with bribery, placed under preventive measures, and dismissed from their positions. The article provides for five to ten years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions for up to three years and confiscation of property.
Law enforcement officers are also identifying all people who may be involved in the violation.
Earlier, SBI employees reported suspicions to the deputy commander of one of the military units deployed in Vinnytsia region. The investigation established that in 2022, the official unjustifiably issued combat payments to servicemen who were actually in the rear.
