MIA Embezzlement Case Sent to Court by SAPO
The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has referred to court criminal proceedings regarding the embezzlement of over UAH 16 million from the state institution "Center for Service of Units" of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. An agreement was reached with the former State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Oleksiy Takhtay.
This was reported by the press service of the SAPO.
On August 4, 2026, the SAPO prosecutor, based on the materials of the NABU pre-trial investigation, sent to the court an indictment against the former head of the State Enterprise "Center for Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Units" and six other persons who were exposed for misappropriation of millions of dollars, providing illegal benefits, as well as legalization of property obtained by criminal means. The actions of the persons were qualified: the former head of a state institution under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine; the owner of a private company under Part 5 of Article 191, Part 4 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine; the director of a private company under Part 5 of Article 191, Part 2 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine; the actions of four more persons under Part 2 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine

Earlier, NABU and SAPO reported that they had completed the investigation into the case against nine people, including former State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Oleksiy Takhtai.
